Dr. Holly Brand's Statement of Faith:

I believe...

God:

God is the Father of all creation. He is the only one true God. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and present everywhere. God is faithful to His promises and is unchanging—He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. God directs all things according to His good and perfect purpose. God loves each person unconditionally. God is love.

Scripture: Acts 17:24 -28; 1 John 4:8; John 5: 19-24; Ephesians 1:3-6; Luke 10:21-22.

Jesus:

Jesus is God’s only Son and was in the beginning with God. He became flesh and walked on the earth among men, living a perfect sinless life. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born to a virgin. I believe in the perfect example of His ministry and teaching. He is the source of abundant life. Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross as a sacrifice for human sin. Through His shed blood He has redeemed all who believe in Him. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father. He is the one and only true path to God. Jesus will return someday to earth to reign.

Scripture: John 3:16; John 1:1-14: Matthew 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:15; Romans 5:6-8; John 13:14-15; Romans 3:23-25; John 20; Acts 1:9-11; Titus 2:13; 1 Peter 2:21-23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. His purpose is to take of what is Jesus’ and declare it to believers. He is described in Scripture as the Helper, Comforter, Convicter, Teacher, Reminder, Healer, and Provider of Power. He provides a Christian with guidance in doing what is right and helps one apply the truth of God’s word in the “nitty-gritty” of life (one’s finances, daily schedule, relationships, etc.)

Scripture: John 16:5-15, 14:16 -17, 3:3-7; Galatians 5:22-26; Matthew 28:19; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Corinthians 2:12 , 3:16 , 6:19.

The Bible:

The Bible is without error and is the fully inspired word of God. It is not the product of human inspiration or intellect; it is God-breathed. Scripture is the ultimate authority in all matters of life.

Scripture: 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16; John 20:31.

Sin and Salvation:

God created man in His own image. Sadly, man sinned and as a result faces physical and spiritual death. This causes separation from God. All human beings are born with a sinful nature and are in need of a Savior. Those who confess their sin and turn from it, and trust in Jesus Christ and accept His forgiveness, are saved from condemnation. It is by grace that people are saved—it is a gift from God and nothing can be done to earn it. After salvation, one becomes a new person, is united with God through Jesus, and receives eternal life in Heaven.

Scripture: Genesis 1:26 -27, 3:1-6, 5:1-2; Romans 5:12-14, 3:23 , 5:19 , 8:1; John 5:24 , 3:16 ; James 1:14-15; Acts 4:12 , 16:31 ; Ephesians 2:8-9.

Eternity:

Heaven and hell are real places of existence for all of eternity for the human soul. A person will either be eternally separated from God by sin and exist forever in hell. Or, one will be united with God through the forgiveness and salvation of Jesus Christ and live eternally in Heaven.

Scripture: Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15; John 5:25 -29, 11:25 -26, 14:3; Mark 14:62; Acts 1:11 ; 1 Corinthians 4:5, 15:51 -57; 1 Thessalonians 4:13 -18.

Christian Living:

I believe a Christ-follower should live to bring glory to God. One should love and serve Him and love and serve other people. One should seek to grow in closeness and maturity in relationship with Jesus. Daily Bible reading and prayer are essential ingredients for Christian living.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:31; Philippians 4:8; 1 Peter 4:7; Romans 12:1-3; Hebrews 12:1-2; John 14:15, 15:12; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9; Colossians 1:9-10.

Ninety percent of American parents either avoid the issue altogether or do an inadequate job of preparing their children. Unfortunately 80% of teens have had sex by the age of 19.  It is time to close this gap.  Most of society's energy is spent on talking to teens about sexuality.  The problem is that a big part of the audience has already had sex.  Dr. Brand focuses on equipping parents to do their job in order to help close the gap.  God’s word is clear on this topic and kids today are in great need of His direction as evidenced by a recent article entitled "Christian Teens Favor Sex Before Marriage." This aspect of our children's development is far too important to leave to chance or to the media to educate our sons and daughters.  In this message Holly provides important and current information on how teenagers think, the consequences of adolescent sex, and practical techniques on when to start communicating with your children, what is age-appropriate, and how to start.
