Yellow Umbrella Ministries formally began in 2000 as a speaking and writing ministry. Dr. Holly Brand is featured as a speaker at events ranging from women’s retreats and graduation ceremonies to church services, banquets, conferences, and seminars. ois communities.Ps

How We Began:

“How do you want to be remembered?” This was the question in the early 1990s by one of my college professors that planted the seed for Yellow Umbrella Ministries. On a rainy day, where are the yellow umbrellas? They are rare, but they stand out like a ray of sunshine on a dark day. My answer to my professor’s question is this: “I want to be remembered as a person who carries a yellow umbrella.”

Jesus tells us to be the light of the world and let that light shine among the darkness. The Yellow Umbrella is a symbol of the joy of knowing Him. This is a ministry about joy—true joy, complete joy, lasting joy—how to find it, share it, and protect it.

What are we seeking to accomplish?:

Inspiring others to discover their joy, identity, and abundant living through Christ.

There are Three Principles to The Yellow Umbrella:

• Carry It
  • Have you ever been caught in the rain without your umbrella? Before we can share joy with others, we have to have it ourselves.
    
• Open It
  • Open your umbrella and let it shine before others and share your joy with them.
    
• Protect It
  • Don’t let your umbrella get flipped inside out from a gust of wind. Many things lurk in our lives trying to steal our joy. Busyness, disappointments, frustrations…the list is endless. We must protect our joy from being robbed by circumstances.
